Norah Parke

Norah Parke works for the Killybegs Fishermen’s Organisation Ltd (KFO), primarily with the shellfish sector but also coordinates the KFO participation in previous EU projects such as PROFET Policy. She was directly involved in the preparation of background policy documents, the organisation of two major workshops and the compilation of technical leaflets for the project. More recently, she has headed up KFO activity in the INTERREG Atlantic Area brown crab project ACRUNET, which aims to develop a transnational industry-based network to promote all aspects of the brown crab industry – catching, quality and promotion.

Norah studied Zoology in University College Cork and graduated with a Masters degree in fish pathology. She spent some time in the aquaculture sector followed by several years in the family seafood business, which specialised in live transport of brown crab and lobster, before joining KFO in 2005.
