Andrew Kinneen
Prior to his appointment as an Authority Member with the SFPA, Andrew was Head of the Seafood Control Division at the Department of Communications, Marine & Natural Resources (DCMNR). Andrew is also currently one of Ireland’s representatives on the Administrative Board of the Community Fisheries Control Agency. He brings to the SFPA a wealth of experience in the sea-fisheries industry, having started his career on trawlers around the coast of Ireland in whitefish, herring and prawn fisheries. He also worked with the European Commission (EC) as a European Fisheries Inspector and as a Community Inspector in the North East Atlantic. Before commencing his employment with the EC, Andrew was appointed as a Sea-Fisheries Protection Officer at DCMNR where he was engaged in the regulation of sea-fisheries conservation law and food safety law. He also served as a Fish Quality Officer, based primarily in Galway and Ros an Mhil.
