About Regional Fisheries Management Organisations (RFMOs)

Regional Fisheries Management Organisations (RFMOs) are responsible for the management of fish stocks on the high seas.

RFMOs are also responsible for management of fish stocks that migrate through the waters of more than just a single state. Organisations that operate adjacent to Irish waters include the North East Atlantic Fisheries Commission (NEAFC) and the International Commission for the Conservation of Atlantic Tuna (ICCAT).
