Sea-Fisheries Protection Authority Issues Information Notice to Trade advising the use of TRACES for Export Health Certification to Great Britain and associated Training

In an evolving third country regulatory environment, the Sea-Fisheries Protection Authority (SFPA) recently issued an Information Notice to trade in relation to technical requirements for Irish companies trading with Great Britain. In advance of the implementation of export health certification for exports to Great Britain due from 31st of October this year, it has been agreed that the essential export health certification processes will be carried out using the EU online system TRACES*. This online digital system will allow Food Business Operators (FBOs) to apply online through TRACES and for the SFPA to issue and electronically sign the relevant export health certificate. It is important to note that TRACES will only be used for trade with Great Britain.

To facilitate as smooth an implementation as possible, the Department of Agriculture Food and the Marine (DAFM) are providing a number of Webex Training sessions to trade on TRACES beginning the 15th of June. The sessions will run on the 15th, 22nd and 29th June. There will be two sessions each day at 10am and 2pm.

Session topics include:

Session 1: 10am - 11am

 • EU login and role request

 • How to register an operator

 • How to use advanced search

 • How to modify your profile

Session 2: 2pm - 3pm

• How to generate an Export Health Certificate

FBOs looking to join the training should click on the link below at the time they would like to join:https://dafm.webex.com/dafm/j.php?MTID=m84a7440e6fa95de61f85ea72fd8021f1

Exports of animals and animal products to Great Britain must come from approved establishments. Operators must make sure the details of their establishment are included in the Lists of Establishments Approved to Export to Great Britain and are accurate and up to-date. FBOs should  visit https://food.ec.europa.eu/safety/biological-safety/food-hygiene/approved-eu-food-establishments_en to check the list of establishments and verify their details.
