The Irish Sea is the body of water situated between Ireland and the United Kingdom north of 52° N and south of 55° N. It comprises of ICES area 7a.
The Celtic Sea Protected Area (CSPA) this zone comprises of ICES divisions 7f, 7g, the part of 7h North of latitude 49° 30′ North and the part of 7j North of latitude 49° 30′ North and East of longitude 11° West.
The Hake Restricted Area (HRA), also known as the hake box, is an area inside the Celtic Sea and west of Ireland. It is comprised of parts of ICES sub areas 7b, 7g, 7h & 7j.
