Recruitment

The SFPA engages  Conscia Talent to facilitate some of our recruitment competitions.  All recruitment for the SFPA is carried out in line with the Codes of Practice for Appointment to Positions in the Civil Service and Public service prepared by the CPSA - Commission for Public Service Appointments (CPSA).

Our goal is to attract and develop a diverse group of people with the skills and motivation to deliver excellence. We use the Capability Framework recruitment model to assess candidates skills, behaviours and potential across various roles and grades. The Capability Framework focuses on a person-centred approach, exploring candidate’s values and motivations to foster an innovative, professional, and agile Public Service. Members of our shortlisting and interview boards receive training in capability-based recruitment techniques. We ensure that interview panels are gender inclusive, as far as possible.

All open competitions in the Sea-Fisheries Protection Authority are advertised through Publicjobs.ie and an online recruitment application system managed by Conscia Talent.  All applications must be submitted via this system.
